This fast paced course covers basic rigging gear, rigging concepts and introduces the students to some intermediate rigging skills and applications. Essential knowledge of slings and rigging hardware is covered. Equipment capacities, sling hitch types, working load limits and the reduction of rated capacities for certain situations is also covered. The students will learn to estimate weights and how to calculate tensions based on sling angles with symmetric and non-symmetrical loads. ASME B30 Pre-use inspection requirements are covered for slings and typical rigging hardware used in rigging applications. Selection of the proper slings and equipment is addressed in the basic lift planning workshops. Load control basics and proper load handling procedures are reviewed to provide the students with safe and efficient methods required to rig and hoist a load.

Course Materials: Each attendee will receive a Rigging Handbook, Rigging Pocket Guide, Crand Hand Signal Cards, and a Student Workbook as part of this class.
