Attracting & Retaining Employees
In July 2017, Michigan's jobless rate dipped to a level not seen since August 2000. While the unemployment rate is low, the number of people working in Michigan also remains lower than August 2000.

Further, over the next few years while 76 million Baby Boomers retire, the upcoming Generation X population numbers just 44 million people. Simply stated: there are a lot fewer people available to work.

Your best employees, employees that you want to retain, seek frequent opportunities to learn and grow in their careers, knowledge and skill. Without the opportunity to try new opportunities, sit on challenging and significant teams, attend seminars and read and discuss books, they will stagnate.

A career-oriented, valued employee must experience growth opportunities within your organization.

Every employer should be asking the question:
How do I hang on to my great employees?
The CAM Leadership Academy
To combat what has become a major labor shortage in the construction industry and across the state, CAM has teamed up with Premier Executive Forums to develop the CAM Leadership Academy.

The training approach and content of this program will develop your managers into leaders, improving their daily execution in the areas that matter the most to the performance and profitability of your business. Investing in your supervisors and managers will also assist you in attracting and retaining quality talent. They’ll learn:

  • Fundamentals of Effective Leadership
  • Powerful Communication Skills
  • Disciplined Conflict Management
  • Performance Coaching and Feedback
  • Effective Delegation
  • Systematic Problem Solving
  • Motivating for Peak Performance
  • Building Performance Accountability

The next CAM Leadership Academy launches on January 9, 2019  and runs every other Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at CAM’s Training & Education Center in Bloomfield Hills. Sponsorship opportunities are available.
